General information

The Seaside Beach Baldeney is a 250 metres long beach section along the Baldeney Lake. There is a great beach with dozens palm trees, three South Sea bars and a coo cocktail bar. You can relax and enjoy the sun.

If you want to do some sports this location offers many activites. You can rent a surfboard, take surf lessons or just do stand-up paddling. Furthermore, there are several beach volleyball fields, space for soccer, you can take archery lessons, play bumper ball and mini golf, do a canoe ride or exert yourself in in the climbing garden.

Unfortunately, due to some circumstances swimming in the lake is still not allowed. Though, the operating company is working on a solution to provide special space for swimming which is expected to be usable in summer 2017.

Please be also informed that you are not allowed to bring or eat your own food after 16:00.

The Seaside Beach is located in Essen. Therefore, it is best if you first get to the main station in Essen (“Essen Hauptbahnhof”). From the main station in Essen take line S6 (direction Dusseldorf) to the station Essen Hügel. It takes around 10-15 minutes to walk from the station to the Seaside Beach.

Prices

Regular entrance fee  3.50 € /// Students 3.00€

After 19:00 the entrance fee is 1€ + 2€ minimum consumption

Opening times

It is open daily from 10:00. However, when the weather is bad it will be closed.
