Movie Park Germany is one of the biggest amusement parks in Germany. Precisely, it is a theme park with real movie studios (which you can visit). Its five themed zones feature several rollercoasters, spectacular Hollywood-inspired live shows and a lot of different attractions from the world of film. If you are interested in spectacular stunt shows, film studios or if an adrenaline rush is what you’re looking for, then you should visit this park.
Some of the popular highlights are the 60-metre High Fall tower, the dizzying MP Xpress rollercoaster and the Alien Encounter water ride.
However, keep in mind that sometimes – especially on the weekend – the park is crowded and you have to wait in line for more than one hour at popular attractions. This is why you should bring enough time and patience.
There are also lots of snack bars in case you need a break. And in case you run out of cash, there are two ATMs in the park.

You can reach the park by either bus or train. Get to the main station in Essen (“Essen Hauptbahnhof”) and take the line SB16 (direction Bottrop Movie Park).
Alternatively, take a train (lines RE 14, RB 44, RB 43) from the main station in Duisburg. The railway station at the park is called „Feldhausen“ and is about 400 metres from the entrance.
Opening times depend on the season of the year, generally the park is open late March to early November. Mostly it opens at 10:00 and closes between 17:00 and 20:00. Though, on some specific days it is closed.
Most common payment methods are cash and credit cards. Most of the shops within the park accept credit cards as well.
Entrance fees depend on a few factors like the season of the year and opening times and if you need a single ticket or a group ticket.
